The collected sample of Case 43B is now fully grown, and the news is worse than we feared.At this mature stage, Case 43B has (similarly to Case 43) demonstrated the ability to dispense spores, although they appear to do it instinctively as a natural Agaricus bisporus would and not as a defensive mechanism like in the case of Case 43.
This instinctive spore dispersal is quite damaging as it happens quite regularly. An enclosed space where mature Case 43B are housed quickly become inhospitable and asphyxiating.
Going forward, it will be made mandatory for all staff members handling and researching Case 43B to wear air filter masks.
Until we receive further instructions on how to proceed with all Cases of 43B as well as Case 43 itself, both will be contained in the most airtight of available spaces, which we hope to decrease the rate of spore dispersal.
